I recently began my own venture into Twitch streaming and have been working on the branding for my channel. I have always been fascinated by streaming and the ability to build a community with like-minded individuals. It can be lonely when you have obscure hobbies, but streaming is a great way to connect with others who share your interests.
What drew me to streaming is the raw and authentic nature of the platform. Unlike YouTube, where there’s a lot of post-production work, streaming allows me to get right in and start tinkering with my projects.
For my branding, I wanted to have fun with bold typefaces and bright colors, which is something I don’t typically get to do in my day job. I collaborated with my brother, Dan (he’s a UX genius, check out some of his work!), and we decided on the name “Tink Time”. We wanted something unique and not too generic. I intentionally avoided words like “tech” and “retro”, as they’re quite saturated in the electronics and computing scene.
My goal is to share and record my projects and hopefully help others learn along the way. It’s been a steep learning curve, as I’ve had to become familiar with streaming software, cameras, and lighting. But I’m excited for what’s to come and can’t wait to share more updates in the near future.
